Editing

Monday 1st November 2010

Today we began to capture all of the footage which had been filmed over the half term. We had filmed around an hours worth of material therefore we only got some of the capturing was done.

Wednesday 3rd November 2010

We continued to capture the rest of the footage today nearly getting to around 40 minutes of it.

Thursday 4th November 2010

Today we finished capturing the footage which included extra material which we had filmed at the Liverpool gym (known for freerunning training) last night. Only a few clips are not suitable to use being for different reasons (wrong positining etc).

Friday 5th November 2010

The first thing we did today was cut all the clips we had already captured down to the actual tricks we needed for the documentary. Because of this alot of the clips are rather shot therefore fast paced editing will be used to keep exitement in the documentary.

Monday 8th November 2010

During this week we put all the clips onto the timeline and began to decide what order they all would be in. we decided upon the music we were going to put in and included that on the timeline
The first music track we chose is Chase and Status - Let You Go as when we were talking to the Free Runners, they said that they usually listen to this music whilst they are training and we agreed that the speed and beat of the music matched the pace of the editing.

Monday 15th November 2010

This week we finished putting all of the clips into order. We left a few spaces where we thought vox pops should be. We unlinked all of the audio and video on the clips with the Free Running on them so that the chosen music can be heard and we can add a voice over to it. We then put in the second piece of music , This was Pendulum- Watercolour as when we went to film at the gym, they had this track playing in the background.

Monday 22nd November 2010

Today we edited some vox pops which were filmed the day before and put them into the documentary. We changed the framing on a few of them to make sure that they followed the conventions of documentaries. The volume of these vox pops had to be changed, making some of them louder if the person being asked talked to quiet.

Wednesday 24th November 2010

Today we recorded the voice over then uploaded it onto the documentary. We cut it down to what we needed and placed it into the relevent places. This voice over has linked all of the clips together and made it look and sound more like a documentary.

Friday 26th November 2010

Today we started to finish the documentary putting some final touches to it. We changed lighting levels and the colours of some of the shots to make them match and fit together more. We also ajusted some volume levels of the music, voice over and interviews so that we can hear them all clearly.

Monday 13th December 2010

Today we finished editing the documentary after we filmed some different vox pops to add to the documentary in place of others which we felt didnt fit into it correctly and adding more of the interviews.
